Bertha Nathanielsen
Bertha Nathanielsen was a painter. She was born 24.12.1869 in Stavanger and died 19.01.1914 at Oringe. Her parents were Steam Master Knud Nathanielsen and Severine Gjesdahl. Bertha Nathanielsen stayed single.
Bertha Nathanielsen performed unique works in underglaze decorated porcelain with flowers and landscapes for the Royal Copenhagen. For the same factory she painted in competition with 5 other women cold dish for the exhibition in 1895. The subject is dandelion that has stylized leaves and pappus, painted with soft, curved shapes.
Bertha Nathanielsen learned underlaze painting in Arnold Krog´s department at Royal Copenhagen from 1893 on and stayed there until 1906. She also went to Dorphs painting school 1904/05.
Miss Nathanielsen travelled to India in 1887; Spain, Italy, Germany and England 1890s
